Trouble Brewing - 2021

This carving is made entirely of local Black Walnut. I began sketching the design for the carving in September of 2019, with plans to show it in the 2020Western Idaho Fair (which was cancelled due to Covid).

This project was directly inspired by the art of Philip R. Goodwin, particularly his portrayals of mother and bear cubs invading fishing and hunting camps.

This carving has won multiple first-place, people's choice and Best-Of-Division awards at both the 2021 Western Idaho Fair and the 2022 Idaho Artistry in Wood show.
